The European Association for Information on Local Development (AEIDL) was founded in 1988 by like-minded individuals who believed that European integration could make a positive contribution to citizenship and to the sustainable development of local communities.

In 2013, the association celebrated its 25th anniversary. On this specific occasion, Arctik organised a two-day conference on 19-20 February 2014.

With the title “Reinventing Europe through local initiative”, the conference focused on 25 local development initiatives that showcased their achievements and highlighted how new and emerging ideas and approaches at the local level can provide new perspectives for Europe. Speakers included:

• Chris Brooks economist at SciencesPo Paris
• Marjorie Jouen Special Adviser at Think Tank Notre Europe
• 25 local initiatives’ representatives

After the sessions at the European Parliament, Arctik organised an evening cocktail inauguration at AEIDL ’s newly designed premises. Arctik provided and advised on the facilities to enhance networking relations between participants. The following day, dedicated workshops were organised at “Le Bouche-à-Oreille”. These offered informative and detailed discussions, with opportunities for the pan-European participants to further engage.

On the occasion of AEIDL ’s jubilee anniversary, Arctik developed a new design and layout for the promotion of the event whilst organising the entire logistics for the two-day conference. Arctik promoted the event through a graphical identity embedded within a dedicated website; took take care of the daily management of the event; facilitated contact with stakeholders such as the European Parliament and participants, and built media relations.
