The Wallonia European Creative District awareded ten projects in the Wallonia region of Belgium for their creativity, at a gala evening in November 2014 at Bois du Cazier, Marcinelle. To ensure the promotion of the event within EU circles, Arctik was contracted to work on media relations.

The Wallonia European Creative District was launched in June 2014 as a continuation of the European Creative District project that aimed to demonstrate how traditional industrial regions could help create a supportive ecosystem in which entrepreneurs can develop, innovate, grow and internationalise. Wallonia was chosen among 40 candidate regions in Europe.

The event of 13 November 2014 presented the winners of the “creativity cheques”, each worth €6000. The purpose of the “creativity cheques” is to encourage collaboration between players in the creative industries or any other type of enterprise.

Arctik targeted the Brussels-based media and EU platforms active in the field of creative industries as part of its media relations.
