Good care deserves good masks

With masks still in short supply, we wanted to give a shout-out to some Belgian initiatives that deserve all the help you can spare.

Balaclavas, gas masks, Halloween masks … on our government-sanctioned grocery trips we’ve seen people go to absurd lengths to protect themselves from the coronavirus. We get it; desperate times call for desperate measures and any mask feels better than no mask at all.  Doctors, nurses, and carers should not have to turn to DIY masks though. With masks still in short supply, we wanted to give a shout-out to some Belgian initiatives that deserve all the help you can spare.

So, have you read all your books? Are you bored of calls via * insert your favourite platform *? Or are you simply looking for a way to make a difference in between home workouts and Netflix bingeing? If you are handy with a sewing machine, please make some mouth masks for medical staff in your area.

Many cities have set up initiatives that make it easy for you to create and donate masks to medical staff. They will often even get you the supplies you need to start stitching and will pick up any masks you make to get them straight to hospitals, care centers and other organisations that need them.
