Wallonia European Creative District
Ten projects from the Wallonia region – Belgium – were awarded for their creativity under the Wallonia European Creative District the occasion of the gala evening that took place on 13 November 2014 at Bois du Cazier, Marcinelle, Belgium. To ensure the promotion of the event within EU circles, Arctik was contracted to take charge of the media relations of the awards.
The Wallonia European Creative District was launched in June 2014 as a continuation of the European Creative District project that aimed to demonstrate how traditional industrial regions could help create a supportive ecosystem in which entrepreneurs can develop, innovate, grow and internationalise. Wallonia along with the region of Tuscany, Italy was chosen among 40 candidate regions in Europe.
The event of 13 November 2014 presented the winners of the so called “creativity cheques”, each worth €6000. The purpose of the “creativity cheques” is to encourage collaboration between players in the creative industries or any other type of enterprise.
Arctik targeted the EU Brussels based media and EU platforms active in the field of creative industries as part of its media relations.
